There will be a great expansion of LCBA's educational program in the fall of 2010.  Enrollment will also be expanded and LCBA is proposing to change its name to Sequoia Family Learning.

About Us

Curriculum

Grades K-6
Phonics is the main focus with weekly spelling lists and oral reading.  Students are treated as individuals and are able to move at their own pace with our small class sizes.
Grades 7-8
Fast Math and Six Traits Writing are used in our Jr. High program. English includes a focus in Grammar and Vocabulary.   In our Jr. High Program students do not change classes by subject as in most local middle schools.  Jr. High students at LCBA have the same teacher all day.  Middle school students are at such a fragile age and we feel that a connection to one teacher like in K-6, is more effective for the age group.

Grades 9-12
Our high school curriculum is suplemented by Sequoia Choice Arizona Distance Learning.  In the coming 2009-2010 school year we hope to introduce a concurrent enrollment option for high school students to be able to attend college at a local community college and/or vocational school for part of the day.  We offer high school credits for the qualifying courses completed off campus.

Mission

We believe that character education is a necessity in the academic growth of a child.  We require respect and kindness from all students and staff.  Our goal is to give children a solid foundation in the basics of education including phonics, mathematics, social studies, science, art, and physical education.  Reading and Writing are the main focus across all of our curriculum.  We believe this foundation will help them succeed in their future educational endeavors.
