The AUP spells out the conditions and guidelines by which students and CCSD employees can use computers and technology at any CCSD facility. Students found in violation of the AUP are subject to standard school discipline including the temporary or permanent disabling of their login credentials. All student workstations at Basic Academy are connected to filtered Internet as dictated by CCSD policy and every student must login with their network credentials to access a workstation.

Basic Academy strives to have every student be prepared for the 21st century workplace by graduation. This is why Basic Academy is committed to providing all students access to cutting edge technology on campus and at home. Our school is striving to create paperless classrooms, digital collaboration, self paced, online learning and much more. Some of the key technology features at Basic Academy include the following:

  • LEARNING LABS & TABLET CARTS - Basic Academy is fortunate to have five computer labs and four iPad carts. These labs and carts are available for teachers throughout the school year to bettter assist our students in learning the skills necessary to work in the 21st century workplace. This allows every student to have access to technology regardless of whether or not it is available at home. OUr school library computer lab is also open on a frist come, first served basis before school, during lunch and after school until 2:00pm to allow students time to study and/or complete projects and assignments outside of class.

  • GOOGLE CLASSROOM - Basic Academy utilizes Google Classroom as our whole school Learning Management System (LMS). Depending on the course, students can utilize Google Classroom for assignment turn in, self-paced learning, class postings and much more. Students will receive a class sign-on from each of their teachers and it will also be found on their course syllabus.

  • GOOGLE APPS FOR EDUCATION (GAFE) - Basic Academy has been chosen as one of the first schools to adopt Google Apps for Education. This exciting opportunity provides students access to a free Google account which will include email, documents, presentations, forms and much more. Students will have unlimited storage on their Google Drive and therefore will no longer need to utilize school server space. This means that students can easily access their work at home and at school. All use of Google Apps will be subject to the CCSD Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE 365 STUDENT ADVANTAGE PROGRAM - Microsoft Office Professional is now available, free of charge, to all active secondary students (grades 6 - 12) in the Clark Country School District through Microsoft's Student Advantage program. This program allows students to download Office 2013 (for PCs) and Office 2011 (for Macs) on up to three personal devices. Students use their Active Directory (AD) username and password to download the software. AD credentials are what students use to access workstations on campus. Individual schools are responsible for providing student with those credentials. For instructions on how to take advantage of this offer, please CLICK HERE.

To help students and parents more effectively monitor academic progress, the Clark County School District provides a web-based system called Infinite Campus. This system provides detailed, real-time information including: demographics, schedules, assignment & assessment scores, calendars, grades, attendance, graduation progress, academic planners, to-do lists, reports and district & school notices. Parents and students must use an individual login & password to access Infinite Campus. For assistance in setting up or accessing your Parent account, please contact Laura Helland at 702-799-8000 x4207.
